Palgrave Community Kitchen – Kids’ Cooking Camp

August 16 – 19, 2011, 9:00 am – 12:30 pm, Ages: 9 – 12, Cost: $80 (includes yummy food)

Downey’s Farmer Camp

2 Sessions available, Week 1: August 15- 19, 2011; Week 2: August 22-26, Ages: 5-10, Downey’s Farm
At Downey’s Farmer Camp, campers (or shall we say, Farmers-In-Training) will explore farm life and learn about crops and animal care in an active, fun and safe way, all while enjoying daily games, crafts, and easy cooking activities.  The camp is for kids between the ages of 5-10 years old, and there are two sessions available.  For more information, click here.

Cook Like A Local Chef

Brunch Specialties with Maria Durso of FlapjacksMonday, August 22nd, 6:30-9:00pm, at the Palgrave Community Kitchen, 34 Pine Avenue, Palgrave
This month’s cooking class will be taught by Maria Durso, owner of Flapjacks Restaurant. Through Maria’s guidance, participants will learn how to make delicious brunch items (such as crepes and frittatas) that showcase the wonderful local produce that August has to offer.  At the end of the class, we will all sit down and eat together.  The cost for the class is $35 per person, and space is limited.  Please RSVP via email to [email protected]

Children’s Day at Inglewood Farmers’ MarketWednesday, July 27th, 3:30-7:00pm, on property of Inglewood General Store, 15596 McLaughlin Rd.

This Wednesday is the annual Children’s Day at Inglewood Farmers’ Market – a fun-filled evening for both children and adults behaving like children!  Both can enjoy water balloon tosses, egg relay races, the Market scavenger hunt, Make-Your-Own berry frozen yogurt, a chocolate-making demonstration by Joyce of The Chocolate Gallery, crafts, live music, lamb on the BBQ, and more!
