Bohemically Speaking!

“You, you of all people, Miss I’ve-got-to-change-my-clothes… at the slightest blemish and everything has to be matching?”
Living in the country has changed the way I dress. It has changed where I dress. The house in the city had a traditional washer/dryer set up in the basement. The house in the country has the washer/dryer set up on the main floor, the caveat being that the bedroom is now on the second floor, where traditionally my clothes closet and dressers are located.
I very rarely dress on the second floor. Most often, I now find myself dressing from the dryer. No longer do I pain myself over the decisions of what to wear and what not to wear. The dryer decides that for me. But I have thrown a new curve into my fashion prowess.
During the summer, I dry my clothes on the clothesline where, wait for it, I have become a new member of the I’ll dress off the clothesline gang! Now, should you be gasping, do not worry, our property is well covered with plenty of tree and shrubbery.
I recently told my golfing buddies this story and they fell over laughing. “You, you of all people, Miss I’ve-got-to-change-my-clothes… at the slightest blemish and everything has to be matching?” That was the old me. This is the new me. I told them it frees up a lot of grey matter in the old cranium, leaving what little is left for important decision-making decisions. Their laughter soon subsided, as they could readily see the benefits of my new-found system.
Now if there was a way to franchise this, I could see myself on Dragon’s Den!

"Hi Jeff and Brandy, I volunteered for four years at the Lighthouse soup kitchen here in town, and made quite a few friends there. Without it, many people would have to just do without. The food bank only gets them so far. We had people coming in and that meal was the only one they would have all day. What's worse is for people who are celiac and have gluten issues. Cheap things given by the food bank are off their list (pasta, bread, oatmeal, etc.). As for starches, rice is pretty much it. My hat is off to you both for making others aware of what they have, and what others don't."
