Thursday AM – Double digit temps, better for the body, so far we know Cody is up and moving at Forks of the Credit…

Day 9 finished up at the Forks of the credit River, Cody waves goodbye to his hometown and is headed for Milton this evening. Thank you all for meeting up with him at his check points today, and bringing food and snacks. New faces on the trail really seem to keep things fresh. When you burn about 10,000 calories… food is good, even if it is a McDonalds southwest chicken with large fries.

Cody ran with many friends and family today, and thank you to Bern and Rich for repairing his poles. His gear is starting to look a bit “makeshift” as we repair along the way. At this point repairing his equipment is acceptable, as long as we are not replacing any of his parts we are in relative shape.

A huge shout out to Cody’s brother Kyle, you have put quite a few km on the old legs with no training. Somehow after running with Cody off and on all day you even managed to make dinner arrangements. Way to execute the definition of support crew! Keep it up and maybe I will slip some pain relievers into your morning coffee.

As the finish line begins to seem more attainable the atmosphere is starting to lighten. Quite a few laughs were shared on the trails today and we look forward to many more tomorrow.

After today Cody will have about 250km to go…piece of cake right?

Until tomorrow…

Quote of the Day-
“at the end of all of this I want to sleep for 24 hours and wake up with Eggs Benedict and a beer”
– Cody Gillies , the optimist

….now look who is seeing the silver lining… so much silver.
