Photography and other fine art will hang concurrently in two galleries at renowned tourist destination sites as a combined Passport Tour, with arts and cultural performances and presentations during May. The Falls Gallery in the Alton Mill Arts Centre, 1402 Queen Street West, Alton with The Lower Sisnett Lobby of the Helson Gallery, 9 Church Street, Georgetown are approved satellite sites with 27th Scotiabank CONTACT Festival, the world’s largest photography event!.
In the rich spirit of collaboration which the CONTACT celebrates, this exhibit will be hanging photography and other fine art that speaks to humankind concerns. “As people uniquely different, yet profoundly the same, the viewer will be engaged in that age-old exploration of ‘Who am I?’ and ‘What does it mean to be human?’ ”
Guest participant, Robert Steven, executive director of the Portrait Gallery of Canada, will lead two presentations. The mayors of Caledon and Georgetown will each present a Mayor’s Choice award. The curators, Judy Daley and Fausta Facciponte, will do a curatorial presentation at one location and juror’s walk and talk at the second site.
