Connections Art & Book Club in Partnership with Brampton Library – Virtual
June 2 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
Literature and visual arts connect in this distinctive book club. Join the discussion with PAMA and Brampton Library Staff with this month’s choice: The Way the Crow Flies by Ann-Marie MacDonald.
PAMA is made up of four historic buildings: the Peel County Courthouse, Peel County Jail, Peel County Office Building and the Registry Office. Nowadays, the Courthouse is often used for filming, including the production of the 1975 movie “Recommendations for Mercy” based on the murder trial of Steven Truscott. At the age of 14, Truscott was wrongfully convicted of the murder of a classmate. The case was overturned in 2007, 48 years later. Ann-Marie MacDonald’s novel, The Way the Crow Flies, is loosely based on Truscott’s experience. The book discussion will be paired with a behind-the-scenes architectural tour of PAMA.
Registration required with Brampton Library. Library cards are available for all residents of Ontario. Click the “register” icon to sign-up for the club. Once registered, you will be contacted by Brampton Library staff to schedule an in-branch pickup for the book while quantities last.
