Heidi’s Walk for HOPE

September 18 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm

Family Transition Place (FTP) is excited to announce an in-person outdoor event taking place at Island Lake Conservation Area, which will combine two of our major fall fundraisers: Heidi’s Walk and The HOPE Project. This event will feature a 5k walk around the beautiful Island Lake.

Heidi’s Walk is held in memory of Heidi Lee Ferguson (nee Bogner). On September 12, 2009 Heidi lost her life during a tragic domestic dispute with her estranged husband. The Ferguson Memorial Walk was created in 2012 to raise awareness and prevent future violence against women. In 2020, this event was renamed Heidi’s Walk and has been held virtually since due to Covid-19 safety protocols. We’re looking forward to seeing everyone in person to remember Heidi and to walk with HOPE to end domestic violence.

More details to come! Please visit heidiswalkftp.ca very soon for more information and watch for updates on FTP’s social media pages (Facebook and Instagram: @familytransitionplace, Twitter: @ftplace and Heidi’s Walk Facebook: @heidiswalkftp).
