Indigenous Series: Introduction to Bead Embroidery – 18+
July 19 @ 6:30 pm
FreeJoin Katie Longboat to learn the basics of bead embroidery. Katie will also share her knowledge on Indigenous beadwork through her experiences and artwork.
Katie longboat is a Toronto-based Indigenous bead artist, originally from Six Nations of the Grand River. Her beadwork style incorporates inspirations from the natural world, her travels, her family, and uses contemporary materials to create one-of-a-kind jewellery pieces and artworks. Katie is also inspired to create beadwork reflective of her family and identity, and draws inspiration from both Cree and Haudenosaunee styles of beadwork.
This session is part of Caledon Public Library’s year-long Indigenous Series. For more information and resources, please see CPL’s Truth and Reconciliation page.
