Indigenous Series: Kairos Blanket Exercise

June 10 @ 1:00 pm

Free

Join us for this intense, interactive, virtual three-hour workshop that demonstrates the relationship between Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples.

The Blanket Exercise is based on using Indigenous methodologies and the goal is to build understanding about our shared history as Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples in Canada by walking through precontact, treaty making, colonization and resistance. Everyone is actively involved as they step onto blankets that represent the land, and into the role of First Nations, Inuit and later Métis peoples. By engaging on an emotional and intellectual level, the Blanket Exercise effectively educates and increases empathy.

This program will not be recorded for future viewing.

This session is part of Caledon Public Library’s year-long Indigenous Series. For more information and resources, please see CPL’s Truth and Reconciliation page. Many thanks to the Brampton Caledon Community Foundation for its generous funding support.
