Post Traumatic Growth: Loss & Healing Through the Lens of the Pandemic
April 20 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
The loss of loved ones, enforced isolaton, cancellation of festivities and economic devastation are part of why the pandemic has been described by some as one of the greatest crises since World War II. And although some are experiencing lingering trauma, there have also been positive effects that have emerged from the pandemic. Post Traumatic Growth (PTG) refers to positive psychological change experienced as a result of struggling with highly challenging, highly stressful life circumstances. PTG recognizes that while those who encounter traumatic events may experience losses, they can also experience personal development, and a sense of renewal and growth. For some, the pandemic strengthened relationships, reinforced inner strength and resillience, and generated a new sense of purpose in life.
This workshop, facilitated by Steven Janzen, will review some of the losses encountered because of the pandemic, but it will also highlight the opportunity to heal and grow as a result of living through such a profound personal and societal challenge.
Available in-person or on Zoom.
Free, register.
