Our Teen Volunteer Program at Caledon Public Library (CPL) matches youth (12-17) with a variety of engaging, age-appropriate volunteer opportunities throughout the year and at various branches. Students must attend a one-time, mandatory volunteer orientation to volunteer at CPL. All participants must have a parent/guardian present for the first 30 minutes of orientation. Palgrave resident Gail Grant and her daughter Jen reached the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest land mass on the African continent, on October 10, 2011 at 4:13pm local time. It took them seven days to climb 19,341 feet (5,895 metres) to Uhuru peak and two days to come back down. At that time, Gail was 67 years old and Jen was 35. Join Gail at the library to hear the rest of the story and see her awe-inspiring photos.
