Birding Workshop: Peak Breeding Season
June 20 @ 7:30 am - 9:30 am
Summer brings peak bird activity, and breeding season is one of the most exciting times to observe birds up close. This workshop focuses on nesting behaviours, territorial songs and the busy rhythms of breeding season. If we’re lucky, we might find some chicks.
Ryan and Christie return by popular demand after two well-received workshops last year, offering expert guidance in a fun, approachable setting. You’ll learn to recognize songs, behaviours, and signs of breeding while enjoying a peaceful summer morning on the trails. All experience levels welcome!
We will walk up to 3 km of flat trails near the Pine River. Come dressed for the weather and/or bugs. Binoculars are highly recommended!
$20, includes a day pass.
Your hosts: Ryan started birding about 12 years ago and Christie started birding during her ornithology course as part of her biology degree. Ryan and Christie are volunteers for Birds Canada and the Breeding Bird Atlas of Ontario.
