“Wherever there’s this much fertilizer, there’s got to be a pony.” That’s the optimistic promise of Jason Ivy, the youthful director of humble Hogan Cable’s community television station. Actually, their studio is really just the old back kitchen of moonshiner Quincey Calhoun’s rustic farmhouse on the edge of the fictional town of Trillium Brook – somewhere in the farmland of nonfictional Ontario. It is the good old summertime of 1977.
