Still Life, Still Living: Clay Vessel Workshop

Inspired by the commissioned ceramic works by Tamirah Taylor as part of Dreamland’s ongoing series, this workshop led by Hibah Mian, curator of Dreamland, invites participants to use air-dry clay to explore memory, identity, and place through the creation of their own hand-built vessel.

Taking cues from the tradition of still life — reimagined through a contemporary BIPOC lens — the workshop centres the quiet power of everyday domestic objects like a fruit bowl on a kitchen table. Together we’ll reflect on how ordinary things carry extraordinary meaning, and how our personal and collective stories live on through the things we hold, use and remember.
