Tokens of Love

Tokens of Love is an art show that reclaims the flower as a serious and personal subject. Historically dismissed as feminine and decorative, floral painting was one of the few genres women were “allowed” to pursue. In this series each bloom is based on real flowers gifted to the artist by loved ones, portraits of connection, memory and care. By painting them with intention and emotional weight, the artist challenges the notion flowers are trivial.
