Municipal Election 2026: Who’s Running in the Township of Mulmur

Here are the candidates running for mayor, deputy mayor, councillor and school board trustee in Mulmur.

What experience or background do you bring to the table?
I have served as a Mulmur councillor for eight years, actively contributing to committees and community events. With more than 40 years as an executive director at the provincial and national levels, I bring broad experience in planning, finance, human resources, marketing and related areas. I strongly support active, healthy aging and accessible resources for all. I have also been active in community sports, serving four years on the OMSA executive, including as president. In addition, I organized two successful fundraising events for the Dufferin Arts Council, titled “An Evening of Entertainment.”

What is an important issue affecting your community, and where do you stand on it?
One important issue is maintaining the character of Mulmur as our “garden township” while responding thoughtfully to the need for more housing and appropriate commercial growth. I support balanced, well-considered planning that allows the community to move forward while protecting the rural lifestyle residents value.

Why should voters elect you?
II have valued the opportunity to serve Mulmur and remain actively involved in the community. I believe the Township has made meaningful progress, including an updated strategic plan that helps guide priorities in recreation, communications, fiscal responsibility, environmental stewardship, and responsible growth and development. Having lived in Mulmur for 27 years, after 10 years in Orangeville, I understand the concerns and priorities of local residents. If elected, I will continue to consider each issue carefully and make decisions based on what I believe is in the best interest of our community.

What experience or background do you bring to the table?
I bring 10 years of public service experience to the table, including my service as a volunteer firefighter with Rosemont Fire and four years as a councillor in Mulmur. During my time on council, I have gained valuable experience in decision-making, delivering community services, and supporting a wide range of community events and initiatives. I believe my knowledge of environmental sustainability, commitment to fiscal responsibility and passion for community recreation would allow me to continue making a meaningful contribution to the growth, prosperity and success of Mulmur.

What is an important issue affecting your community, and where do you stand on it?
Small communities need to grow and invest in infrastructure, recreation, roads, parks and other services, but they also need to be mindful of the financial impact on residents. My stance is to continue to support responsible, sustainable growth while ensuring that municipal spending provides clear value to the community. I would continue to prioritize essential infrastructure and services, seek opportunities for grants and partnerships, and support investments that improve quality of life without placing an unnecessary burden on the taxpayers of Mulmur.

I will continue to listen to residents, work collaboratively and make decisions with the long-term interests of our community in mind. I have the experience, knowledge and commitment to help Mulmur continue to grow while preserving the qualities that make it a great place to live.
