Holiday Cookie BEE, Saturday, December 3rd, 11am-4pm, at the Palgrave Community Kitchen, 34 Pine Avenue. Want to get this year’s holiday baking done in a fun group setting, complete with hot apple cider, freshly baked scones and holiday music? We will be making 5 different types of cookies, all featuring LOCAL ingredients.  Everyone will go home with at least 10 dozen cookies (2 dozen of each), which can be kept in the freezer until needed for gifts and holiday entertaining.  The cost is $50 per person.  Please register ahead of time via email [email protected] or phone (905) 584-6221.

Cook Like A Local Chef – Soups & Stocks – Monday, December 5th, 6:30-9:00pm, at the Palgrave Community Kitchen, 34 Pine Avenue. In this hands-on class, Lena Valiquette of the Tea Boutique will be teaching participants the fundamentals of making soups and stocks, both meat and vegetarian.  At the end of the class, we will all sit down and eat together.  Cost is $35.  Please register ahead of time via email [email protected] or phone (905) 584-6221.

Youth Entrepreneurship – Part I: Food & Farming Entrepreneurship in Action, Wednesday, November 16th, 6:30pm-9pm, Spirit Tree Estate Cidery, 1137 Boston Mills Road.  Participants will take a tour of Spirit Tree Estate Cidery and learn about what it takes to start and operate an innovative food and farming business.  We will also hear brief presentations from other youths that are small-business owners.  And to top it off, Spirit Tree pizza for dinner!  Please register via email to [email protected].

Youth Entrepreneurship –Part II: Creating a Business Plan, Wednesday, November 30th, 5:30pm-8pm, Small Business Enterprise Centre, 18 King St. East.  In this workshop, led by the Small Business Enterprise Centre and Eat Local Caledon, participants will learn the fundamentals about starting their own business and creating a business plan.  Please register via email to [email protected].

Eat Local Dinner at Market Hill Café, Thursday, November 24th, Reservations available for any time from 5 to 9pm, 19834 Airport Rd., Mono Mills.  Chef Erik Kjaer is back again to do what he does best…  On November 24th, Erik will be showcasing our region’s fare in a 3-course creative and delicious menu.  Cost is $30 per person and vegetarian options are available.  For more information and to book reservations, please contact the restaurant directly at (519) 941-5150.
