The municipal election is over, and the votes have been counted. The mayors, deputy mayors, councillors and school trustees who will shape local politics over the next four years have been officially confirmed.

Despite historically low turnout, several municipalities saw increased voter participation. Orangeville recorded 36.5 per cent turnout, nearly 10 per cent higher than in 2022, while Caledon’s turnout increased to 34.2 per cent from 31.7 per cent. Overall, provincial turnout was 37 per cent, up from 33 per cent in 2022, according to the Association of Municipalities of Ontario. In this municipal election, more candidates ran, while fewer were elected by acclamation.

Here is a list of the winning candidates in Headwaters.
