Straight from the source! Bernadin Canning representative Emerie Brine will be coming to Palgrave Community Kitchen to lead a 1.5-2 hour canning workshop. Learn the step-by-steps, ins and outs, and dos and don’ts of home-canning as Emerie demonstrates the Bernardin canning process and prepares some seasonally-based canning recipes. Participants will receive Bernardin bags, recipes, and brochures on safe home canning. Cost is $10 per person. Please pre-register via email to [email protected].

Eat Local Dinner Event at Ray’s 3rd Generation Bistro Bakery

Chef Jason Perkins will be hosting an Eat Local Dinner on Wednesday, June 13th. Reservations are available for any time between 5 and 9pm. The three-course meal will be $35 per person, and will feature ingredients from the Caledon and Headwaters area. Vegetarian options will also be available. Opening Day of Caledon Farmers’ Market

Saturday, June 2nd, 8am-1pm, Albion-Bolton Community Centre, 150 Queen St. S., Bolton

The Caledon Farmers’ Market opens for its fourth season.  Come and check out the local vendors, fresh local foods, and Opening Day festivities.  Eat Local Caledon will be giving out heirloom tomato plants to the first 50 visitors to the booth.  For more information about the market, click here.

HAYville CANNING BEE – FEATURING RHUBARB

Time to put those new canning skills to use!  In this canning bee, participants will be guided through the step-by-step process of making and canning rhubarb jam and rhubarb chutney.  Everyone will be able to take home a jar or two of each.  Cost is free, as with all HAYville events!
