This week at the Caledon Farmers’ Market, visit us at the Eat Local Caledon booth where we will be demonstrating methods for preserving fresh herbs. There will also be games and colouring sheets and taste-testing at the kids’ table, lots of fresh foods and FREE tasting samples at participating vendors.

For the first time ever, we are taking our Eat Local Dinner series outside of Caledon… to nearby Orangeville where talented and inspired chef Adam Ryan is creating magic in the kitchen! For this special evening, Adam is taking his inspiration from nearby farms and some of the area’s wild edibles. It is a 3-course meal, cost is $35 per person, and vegetarian options are available. Tomato-Corn Salsa Canning Bee
Sunday, August 19th, 12:00-5:00pm, Peel Junior Farmers’ Building, 12942 Heart Lake Rd.
The TRCA and Eat Local Caledon are teaming up to host a series of canning bees this summer, where participants will be guided through the home canning process, preserve some locally inspired salsas in a fun group setting, and take home 5-6 jars for your home pantry!
