A tasty not too spicy Chilli, with lots of fiber and easy to prepare.

Carlee’s Chilli

Ingredients

  • 1 jar (690 g) strained tomatoes
  • 1 lb. Lean ground beef
  • 1 large tin of crushed tomatoes
  • 1 can tomato paste
  • 1 large onion chopped
  • 2 ribs chopped celery
  • 1 heaping tbsp. Brown sugar
  • 2 cans kidney beans
  • 1 can black beans
  • 1 can chick peas
  • 1 can sweet corn
  • 1 1/2 tbsp. Ground chilli
  • 1 tbsp. Ground curry
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Brown onion and celery in large pot and add ground beef and brown until no red remains.
  2. Drain off any fat and add drained beans, chickpeas, tomatoes paste, strained and crushed tomatoes, all spices.
  3. Cook for 2 hours or more on low heat or 325 in the oven.
  4. Add salt and pepper to taste and more chilli powder or curry to your taste.
  5. Add corn just long enough to warm it up.

Notes

Taste to be adjusted as it cooks.
