Le Finis Lavender Sugar Cookies
A staple cookie from the team at Lavender Blue and Le Finis.

This is a perennial favourite of Le Finis chef Terry Doel. She created it in the early years of Lavender Blue, the Orangeville catering company she co-owns with Vanessa Kreuzer under the same roof as Le Finis. This makes 24 to 36 cookies, depending on the size you cut out.
Le Finis Lavender Sugar Cookies
Ingredients
- 2 cups butter
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
- 4 cups flour
- 2 tbsp lavender buds
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350F.
- Cream butter, vanilla and sugar together until light and creamy.
- Add flour and stir until just combined. Fold in lavender and form the dough into 2 balls.
- Chill 30 minutes.
- Roll on a floured surface to ¼ inch thick. Using cookie cutters, cut out shapes as desired.
- Bake on a parchment-lined sheet pan for 10 to 12 minutes or until golden on the edges.
