Do You Know a Local Hero?

If you know someone inspirational who lives in Caledon, Dufferin, Erin or Creemore, we want to hear about them!

Every year In The Hills’ honours a handful of our neighbours for their selfless commitment to our communities, for their charity work or for doing us proud on the national or international stage. Their profiles appear in our winter issue, out in November. 

For our 16th annual “Local Heroes”, we’re opening the nomination process to our readers. We’re looking for folks who live in Caledon, Dufferin, Erin or Creemore who have gone above and beyond in every way. 

Here are a few past examples: 

Kevin Junor, who lives in Caledon, is on a mission is to raise awareness of the No. 2 Construction Battalion, the Black World War I soldiers who served in a segregated unit.

Caledon community activist, environmental advocate and freelance reporter Dan O’Reilly is passionate about protecting the land we live on.

Orangeville’s Malini and Hemani Singh were recognized for their dedication to promoting classical Indian dance, music and culture both at their school and in the community at large.

Shelburne resident Althea Alli is the driving force behind Shelburne’s multicultural events, and the Dufferin County Multicultural Festival.

If you know someone who deserves to be recognized, we want to hear about them at the email address below. Send us a brief description of the person, where they live, why you’ve nominated them and your relationship to them. Add any photos or websites you think are relevant.
